Embassy

Waterproofing & Protective Coatings — Washington, D.C.

Overview

This embassy is a multi-story structure with outdoor planters on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th floors. When the embassy decided to update the landscaping material, Houck provided repair services to ensure the structural stability of the planters.

Details

Houck removed the existing waterproofing, insulation, drainage mat, sealant materials, irrigation lines, landscaping and fill material from the planters. The crew removed and replaced sealants at all exiting joints between counter flashing and masonry coping. Houck detached existing metal counter flashing from receiver-mounted reglet at the top of the planters, repaired defective concrete and installed a new waterproofing system.
