Project Overview

Houck was contacted by a client through a word-of-mouth referral to renovate a sports court that had been in place for over 30 years. This project was unique for Houck’s team, as it involved managing the entire process in-house, from grading to final surfacing. During the initial assessment, multiple issues were discovered, including sloping issues that required a complete regrading of the court.

Purpose & Objectives

The primary objective of this project was to completely renovate the aging sports court to ensure proper drainage, safety, and usability. The project aimed to not only address structural issues stemming from decades of use but also correct grading and slope to meet proper sports court standards.

Additionally, the Houck team would need to install a durable, modern playing surface with updated net and fencing systems, as well as ensure the final court met or exceeded client expectations.

Scope of Work

• Removal of the existing court surface.
• Regrading of the site to correct slope and drainage issues.
• Full excavation and backfilling of the net system area.
• Repaving of the court.
• Installation of new net posts and fencing.
• Application of color coating and sports-specific playing surface.
