Gary L. Houck, Sr.

Head Cheerleader/CEO

Gary L. Houck is Chief Executive Officer of Houck Group, Inc. He has more than 45 years’ experience in the restoration, roofing, specialty construction and real estate industries.

Gary has been a guest speaker and lecturer at numerous university and industry classes, seminars and events, including the University of Wisconsin, Penn State University, Elizabethtown College, HACC, Messiah College and others.  He is the founding president of RIL Insurance Company (Roofers Insurance, Ltd.) and a member of their board of directors.  He is a past president and director of SWR Institute (Sealant, Waterproofing & Restoration Institute).  He is also has been and is currently a member of various boards including Pennsylvania State University Athletic Advisory Council, NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association), Messiah College, Commonwealth Bank, Mellon Bank, Liberty Mutual Insurance, HACC Alex Grass School of Business, Penn State University’s Four Diamonds/Hershey Medical Center, the Keystone Sports Foundation, Harrisburg Area YMCA, Firestone/Bridgestone Advisory Council, Sherwood Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Dinner of Champions, American Subcontractors Association, Mid-Atlantic Builders Exchange, the Second Mile and the American Cancer Society. He has also been involved in other civic, community and industry associations including the Rotary Club, Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and Masonry Contractors Association (MCA), among numerous others.

Gary is a 1973 alumnus of Pennsylvania State University, where he received a Bachelor of Business degree.  In addition, he received his Associates of Arts degree from HACC in 1971 and graduated with honors from the United States Army Finance School at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana in 1968.  Mr. Houck resides in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with his wife, Patricia. They have a grown daughter, Kara Ayn, son-in-law Kyle (McCaffrey) and grandson, Dean Carter, who reside in Middleton, Wisconsin. Gary and Patti’s eldest son, Gary Jr., passed away in 2005 at the age of 29.


Lin R. Sensenig


Lin Sensenig is the President/COO of Houck. In this role, Lin is responsible for the day-to-day management of Houck which includes Houck Group, Inc., Houck Services, Inc. and Houck & Company, Inc.

Lin joined the Houck team with more than two decades of experience in the operational oversight and management of corporate structures. Lin most recently served as Senior Consultant for North Group and previously as President of Champion Group which includes Champion, Moyer Diebel, Bi-Line and Moffat USA brands and is part of Ali Group North America.

Lin and his wife, Patti, live in Reinholds, PA with their children, Tiana (age 11), and Makenzie (age 19). Their oldest daughter, Katelyn (age 24), lives with her husband Matt Stoltz, in Quentin, PA.


John A. Dorfler

Senior Vice President

John A. Dorfler is Senior Vice President of Houck. He is a graduate of Elizabethtown College and earned his CPA certification in 1973.  Previous to his career at Houck, John served in the United States Army and Army Reserves attaining the rank of Sergeant. He worked in the public accounting arena for a total of six years before entering the roofing industry.

John started working full-time for a mid-sized Central Pennsylvania roofing firm in 1977 until 1983, at which time he joined a large regional firm and remained with them for 21 years – nine of which were spent as president of the organization. In his nearly 40 years in the roofing industry, John has acted as controller, salesperson, estimator, project manager, superintendent, vice president and president. John has also been a keynote speaker at roofing conferences, including the national convention, as well as many local venues.

During his career, John has had the distinct pleasure of working with and overseeing roofing projects for virtually every major manufacturer and school district in Lancaster, PA and the surrounding counties. He feels rewarded that in some cases, the relationships he has built have extended over thirty-nine years. John is passionate about the opportunity to evaluate and assist clients with their roofing needs as well provide solutions to any problems with their roof structure. He is also excited about working with the next generation of estimators.

John is passionate about his family and relishes spending time with his wife of 45 years, three children and seven grandchildren. He also enjoys exercise – running, in particular – and has competed in many races – from half marathons to 5Ks. John also enjoys participating in construction-related mission trips.


Matthew W. Moul

Vice President – Roofing

Matthew Moul is the Vice President of the Roofing Department of Houck Services, Inc. He has been with Houck since 2001. In addition to managing the Roofing Department, Matt enjoys preparing detailed cost estimates along with overseeing projects from start to finish. Matt is committed to completing a quality and professional project for our clients. His many years of experience enable him to work with building owners and their representatives to complete projects on time and within budget.

Matt’s expertise includes metal roofing, steep-sloped roofing, commercial roofing and specialty roofing, such as garden roof systems. He is a recent graduate of NRCA’s Future Executive Institute and was a panelist in the 2011 Best of Success Roofing Contractor Conference.  Matt has also been a certified building practitioner with Green Advantage and is currently a member of RCI.


Austin Rhodes

Vice President — Restoration/Industrial

Austin Rhodes is Vice President of the Masonry Restoration/Industrial Department and predominately handles projects involving sealants and masonry restoration.

Austin has been with Houck for 20 years, working in the warehouse before moving into an estimator/project management position and then joining the Leadership Team.  During his time with the company, he has been responsible for over $17,000,000 in contract awards and has been the project manager for over 900 separate projects.  Professionally, Austin is passionate about solving customers’ problems and being part of a team that gives the client a high-quality project experience.

Austin is a graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, from which he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and has received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Lebanon Valley College.  Other industry-related education includes: SWRI (Sealant, Waterproofing, Restoration Institute), University of Wisconsin Masonry Design and Construction – How to Avoid and Solve Masonry Problems Seminar and periodic attendance to The World of Concrete trade show.  He began a career at Houck because it combined his interest in construction, finance and business.

His favorite way to spend free time is being with his family or participating in outdoor sports. He is passionate about The Kids Trust, a charitable organization that raises money to help improve the lives of abused children.

Austin, his wife and their son and daughter reside in Harrisburg.


Stewart E. Bender

Vice President – Estimating/Project Manager

Stewart Bender is Vice President of Estimating/Project Management for the Concrete Restoration/Flooring Department, and as such, handles a wide variety of projects where restoration and repair of interior or exterior repair of structural concrete is necessary.

He also deals with Houck’s large industrial and manufacturing clientele who are interested in solving specific problems their specialized firms encounter due to the nature of their industries.

Stewart has a varied background in materials and technical knowledge, as well as the ability to carry out his objectives successfully.

Stew and his wife reside in Carlisle.


Raymond P. Glackin, Jr.

Vice President – Roof Maintenance

Raymond P. Glackin Jr. is the Roof Maintenance Manager at Houck Services, Inc.  He is responsible for the daily business operation and financial reporting of the roof maintenance department.

Ray graduated from National Roofing Contractors Association’s (NRCA) Future Executives Institute (FEI) and is a graduate of William Penn Senior High School.  He has been employed in the roofing industry with field experience from a laborer to a superintendent and office experience from an estimator to a manager for over 18 years in central Pennsylvania with both residential and commercial contractors.  He is currently a member of the local chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and in his free time is the head coach for the PA Ball Hawks, a local fast pitch travel softball team.

Ray, his wife and three children reside in York.


Frank D. Armstrong, Jr.

Director of Safety, Training & Loss Control

Frank Armstrong holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University in Construction Management and received his certification for Safety Director from the University of Central Florida. Frank is a member of NATMI and ASSE.

Frank has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, of which the last 16 years have been in the Safety and Human Resources departments. He has worked on several projects with the Army Corps of Engineers serving as the Safety and Quality Control Officer. Frank has developed plans and implemented programs to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning transportation, hazardous materials and waste-handling, mine safety and training, excavation, and steel erection.

Frank provides training and orientation for the new employees of Houck as well as supplemental training on new techniques and methods for the more experienced employees of Houck. Frank works diligently with Houck’s employees and other safety professionals in the area to provide a safe working environment for our employees and customers. By working with OSHA, ASSE, NATMI, and other trade associations, Frank is able to continue the level of professionalism and safety that Houck is known for.


Bethany R. Tesché

Director of Marketing & Client Relations

Bethany is the Director of Marketing & Client Relations for Houck. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Writing and Communication. Bethany has over ten years of experience in marketing, business development and sales. The experience she has gained in these industries has provided her with the ability to pinpoint targeted demographics and create customized plans for reaching those prospects; and being a “people-person” has enabled her to flourish in the area of outside sales and networking.

She enjoys the opportunities that Houck has afforded her to “wear many hardhats,” and she thrives on facing new challenges while creating solutions to benefit Houck and their clients. Bethany has recently joined Houck’s Leadership Team and is excited to be involved in the bright future of the company.

For Bethany and her husband, Jim, “home, sweet home” is Palmyra, PA – fully-equipped with their four rescued Dachschund fur-babies.
