Overview
This bell tower was constructed in 1885 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The university and nationally recognized structural engineer contracted with Houck to repair and replace failing mortar joints and remove efflorescence.
Details
This project required Houck to carefully dismantle and rebuild the parapet. Following federal guidelines for the preservation and reconstruction of historic buildings, Houck repointed all mortar joints and used micro-abrasive cleaning methods to remove efflorescence from the stone.
