Hotel Plaza Deck
Surface Rehabilitation Project — Pennsylvania
Overview
This landmark hotel was built in 1931. Due to a buried membrane system that was at the end of its life cycle, the hotel’s front veranda had developed water leaks that were causing structural damage to the building.
Details
As part of the hotel’s expansion project, the owner chose to replace the membrane and enhance the grandeur of the front entrance. Houck’s concrete technicians removed the concrete and structural decks and installed new concrete with a waterproof membrane system. The crew then installed an architectural paver system on pedestals to maintain access to the membrane for future maintenance.
