Cleaning Systems Projects — Maryland
Overview
The granite entrance steps flanked on each end by limestone lions had seen little maintenance since construction in 1929. After decades of shifting and cracking, the steps now required repairs.
Details
Houck removed sections of the lower tier of steps, repaired the stringers and reset the steps. We replaced broken steps with new matching granite steps, and removed, sandblasted and repainted the cast iron railings. Our craftsmen implemented a unique, water-only cleaning process to clean the limestone lions, returning them to their original grandeur.
