Office Building
Structural Repair Project - Pennsylvania
Overview:
This 1929 art deco-styled office building had visible displacement of the brick veneer and precast concrete elements which were contributing to interior leaks.
Details:
Houck removed precast concrete coping stones and sections of brick veneer to find unstable back-up masonry, deteriorated steel support angles and corroded strap anchors. Our repair strategy included implementing new back-up masonry construction, adding new galvanized support angles and replacing the brick veneer. Houck also incorporated cavity wall flashings into the new construction.
