A Brief History
Houck Specialty Contractors was originated by Lawrence E. Houck
in 1947 as a small masonry contracting firm. The company was purchased
by Houck's son and current president Gary Houck in 1980. As Houck's
reputation for excellence continued to grow, the company began to
receive a number of requests for cleaning and restoration services.
Houck quickly expanded, and business soon included a full range
of building preservation, waterproofing, and restoration services
in a variety of substrates. Today, Houck focuses on five major areas
of building restoration and preservation: roofing,
masonry, concrete,
flooring,
and waterproofing.
Personal
Service with a Commitment
to Evolving Technology
At Houck Specialty Contractors, we address each of our customers
on an individual basis and carefully determine the strategy which
will best suit their needs before we begin any contracting work.
Because many of our customers cannot afford to shut down operations
while we work, we consider both plant operation and safety as we
devise a plan which cause minimal disruption to employees and production.
Large-scale or time-intensive jobs are often completed in phases.
As building technology evolves, Houck continually provides our
employees with training on the latest building materials, equipment,
safety procedures, and installation methods. Houck's commitment
to staying abreast of today's newest technological advances has
enabled us to offer protective systems for commercial and industrial
buildings as well as water treatment facilities, bridges, parking
garages, stadiums, and monuments.
Success Dictated by Customer Satisfaction
The success of Houck Specialty Contractors is dependent on the personal
satisfaction of each of our customers. As we strive to exceed the
needs of everyone we do business with, we also do our best to uphold
our long-standing company mission:
"To be recognized as a leader in our industry by delivering
safe, quality, cost-effective service to satisfied customers through
qualified, caring, and rewarded employees while controlling risks
and meeting stockholder expectations."
As we look toward another 50 years of contracting success, Houck's
primary emphasis will remain on customer satisfaction. Our specialized
service areas will continue to expand to meet the needs of our
clients, and we will continue to take advantage of new advances
in product and service technology. In our industry, credibility
is the key to success, and we will continue to let our reputation
for professionalism and unmatched service speak for itself.
